This is another Chicken-less post! From my previous successful Chicken-less Katsu don. I was having this thought of making it more giant!
Creating a chicken-less chop is super easy. The main ingredient is King Trumpet Mushroom! Simple, affordable and healthy.
The Recipe
To prepare the vegan "chicken"⤵️
4 large King Trumpet Mushroom
First marinated with:-
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Pinch of cumin powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper.
For the preparation of batter⤵️
100 gram of plain flours
150 ml of wate
For the breading⤵️
250g of plain flour
2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
Pinch of salt
50ml of water
Lastly, prepare the flour mixture below⤵️
150g of plain flour
2 teaspoon of corn starch
Take a deep breath and understand the steps below. Do take note only to use one hand to dip the mushroom into the batter and another for coating.
1) Preheat the oil to 180 Celcius (just enough to cover the coated "chicken")
2) Coat the "Chicken" with the flour mixture
3) Dip it into the batter.
4) Coat with breading flour
5) Fry for about 4 minutes and flip them once.
6) Transfer it to an oil draining rack or onto a kitchen paper to remove the excess oil.
7) Your Fried Vegan Chicken is ready to be served!
